What Risk Your Laptop can Cause You?

All of us do love spending time surfing in the internet or simply doing work or games in our laptop. It is very convenient and mobile to use. But we may not know the risk our laptop can cause us especially for those who stay overnight with their laptop on bed.

Let me share with you a real life story from a friend of mine. He was with his group of friends in his room having fun together. One of his friends placed his laptop on the top of the bed while playing online games and suddenly fell asleep after all had fallen asleep. Good thing, one of them woke up and realized that the laptop is too hot to touch and place it in the table instead.

What is the risk of putting your laptop on your bed? Well, it will prevent the free flow of air for the laptop to breathe causing it to overheat. If not prevented, it can cause fire and the worst is death. Even if you have a cooling fan with you, it will still not get the air to cool the laptop when it is placed on bed.

There have been cases reported on incidents of fire caused by laptop. One is reported on Yahoo News last November 6 where the body of the victim was found-out dead inside his home. Based on preliminary investigation done by the police officers, it was believed that the victim fell asleep while working and listening to music on his laptop last night. In the investigation, the policed also believed that the laptop was charged and there was a problem with the switch board in the charger and yes, it led to fire. Since the switch board was defective and was too close to the bed, it caused a spark and set the bed on fire.

These incidents are small actually for some of us and even neglected. But hey, this is very important! This will serve as awareness for all of us!  I hope you learn something though. Let’s us help others by educating them on these matters. Save a LIFE!
